Prompt 8

"The things I see as I walk along the street, that's life to me...."
I can see myself driving at night with my car through big ruts that my dad has made worse over time with his freightliner, and as I step out of my car I am stepping in foot deep gushes of mud. By the time I get into the house the legging of my pants and my sneakers are completely covered in mud. I live in the middle of nowhere completely surrounded by woods on a long dirt road, well what use to be dirt and is now mud. I can finally say that mud season is here, dad is leaving at eight o’clock in the evening to go to work after the mud has hardened, roads are posted with weight limits, and road conditions are horrible as in bumpiness. Pretty soon dad will be out of work. Now as I leave my driveway in the morning the mud is softening and as I take off I can see the mud fly up from my tires and onto the hood of my car.

I waited last minute to do all these blogs and it is really hard to do all of them in one night. I have to admit that after doing so manyof them you kinda of run out of things to say. I have been sitting behind this computer for three and half hours tonight and it seems like I haven't accomplished half of what I should have. I am gettin abit tired of sitting behind this screen writting about nothing, I am going to stop and say thank you for the opportunity to catch up.

It has been wierd staying at home the past few nights. I am use to being up until three in mornin hangin out with all my friends and sleepin in their room downdstairs. Now I am at home and I have been in bed really early and in a really lazy mood, where I don't want to do anything. I think that is expected right now but I am hoping that I snap out of it soon because I am sick of being this way. Vacation started after classes today, I only had one so I was all done by ten. I am hoping to get alot done, it's going be hard working during vacation though because I have no classes and I live in Dexter and work in Bangor, so it is a bit of a travel. It is duable though.

The Battle Begins
As I have stated before I got kicked out of the dorms and had to move out. Well I recieved a letter Monday afternoon and at the bottom of the letter it said that I could appeal his desicion of kicking me out. Well this is where I see the battle beginning, so I appealed his letter for sure. I was up all night writting a letter back to him trying to change his mind, mind you I only had 24 hours to get back to him. I went to his office early the next mornin giving him my appeal. As I stood in his doorway handing him my letter I stray to stay as calm as possible and ask him if wants to talk to me in person to try and understand things from my point of view. He told me no and that he would reply within 24 hours. As I was waiting for him to write back I talked to a few people and asked them for the oppinion on what they thought would happen and they told me the exact oposite from what really did happen. I recieved his letter in late mornin, and denied my appeal, again at the bottom it said that I could appeal his letter to the dean of the college. Well I was also told that if I get denied againI can go as far as going to the president. But I felt that two denials was good enough for me so I didn't try to appeal to the dean, I gave in and gave him what he wanted and that was for me to be gone. Well I hope that he is happy now because he got his way and even though I was wrong I admitted to what happened and tried to face my actions responsibly, but it was hard knowing that I had to leave all my friends behind and go home. The battle could have gone further but I decided to try and be a responsible person and face the consequences with out making an idiot of myself or anyone else.

freestyle three

I finally got all of my stuff moved out of the dorms, and today I was moving everything out of my brothers room down to the basement because they moved me in. My brother lives with my mom and i am living with my dad so things worked out pretty well for me until I can get on my feet. It was a long process moving everything but the majority everything is done, now i just have to rearrange my new room. Man that sounds so wierd.

sample i-search reaction

As I was scrolling down through the pages I realized that all the papers vary in length. After looking them over I went back and found the topics that I found interesting and read those ones because I started reading some and they were not very interesting so I skiped over them and went on to the next one until I found one that interested me. They all seem to have a good form and I hope to have the same luck with my i-search. The only problem I think I will have is keeping the reader interested due to my topic because it is something that no one really knows about.

my cause essay

A Dead-End Job
If someone ever asked me how I liked working at Dunkin Donuts and if they should apply, I would tell them to find some other place to look for work. Working at Dunkin Donuts is stressful all the time. Plus the employees gossip about each other and make fun of the customers. All in all it’s a dead-end job and an unpleasant place to work. I dislike working at Dunkin Donuts because the work area is a mess all the time, the employees don’t care about customer service, and worst of all the pay is terrible.
First of all, the work area is a mess. For one thing, the counter is always disgusting. It is always covered with crumbs from the muffins and donuts. Sugar constantly falls off the coffee cups because the sloppy employees are in a rush. There is sometimes spilt coffee from the employees not putting the lids on the coffee cups right and the coffee spills out the sides. Also the work station is gross. The sugar is always stuck onto the station so bad that we have to pour hot water where the coffee was accidentally dumped onto the sugar that had been slopped on the outside of the bowl. The employees leave the artificial sweetener packet lying all around and if they go to throw then away and miss the packets stay on the floor until someone else decides to pick them up. I see broken cups and mess up coffees just sitting on the station waiting to be spilt. There are coffee beans dumped everywhere from trying to fill the bin too quickly and the bag overflowing the small opening in the bin. In addition, the drive thru is nasty. The trash can is constantly overflowing with wet coffee grounds. I can never seem to make enough coffee. It goes as quick as I make it. At the work station we have counter people coming over to use our coffee because they ran out and are to lazy to make more and while they are using our coffee they are also making a mess of our station. The counter people also come to our station to use all of our cream when they need to make a coffee coolatta. There are always munchkins in the drive thru’s area because the employees love to kick them around like they are little soccer balls instead of picking them up. Nobody that works at Dunkin Donuts likes to clean up after themselves so the place always looks like a dump.
On top of the constant mess my fellow employees don’t care about customer service. For one thing, the employees are always rude to the customers. One time I was listening to an order and the way that Belinda responded was horrible. The customer ordered a long and after the really long order Belinda snapped at the customer, "Is that all?" as if she was in a hurry and then she put the order together as carelessly as possible. Also, they give sloppy service to the customers. For example if Mindy was working drive thru and had forgotten a coffee, she would ask again or maybe even a third time "what was in the coffee?" and after she was told it would be thrown together with sugar all over the side of the cup and cream running down the side. Finally, they are rude to me. If I am in charge for the shift I will ask different employees to do different tasks. I might ask someone to do the bathrooms, someone to do the creamers, and someone to sweep and mop. I have had my share of chores and now it is their turn, but I will always get one person that doesn’t want to do her chore and she will aggravate me so badly. For example, when I told Kristen to clean the bathrooms, she gave me her bad attitude, complete with rolled eyes. She told me she would do it when she got around to it, if she had time. Other times, the employees will tell me that I have no right telling them what to do because I am not their boss but the thing is they may not realize the boss is the one that left me in charge. Employees at Dunkin Donuts tend to do as they wish, not caring whose feelings they may hurt or whose order they may mess up on. It is really sad.
Worse than the mess and the uncaring employees is the terrible pay. For some of the things I do I think that I should be getting paid a little better. For over a year now I have been working for only $6.35 per hour and I deal with a lot of crap from customers, fellow employees, and even my manager. I have gone home before in tears because employees have messed up on a customer’s order and that customer has come back yelling at me so meanly I had go out back to cool down. I have had to clean the restaurant when it has been its dirtiest, including cleaning the men’s bathroom, which is the worst. I have put up with rude employees and a manager who takes advantage of me. Worst of all, I have spent much time being a shift leader with added responsibility but no extra pay. In addition to a low wage, I receive no benefits, no holiday pay, and am aloud no overtime.
I really hate working at Dunkin Donuts. I hate the mess, the people, and the pay. It is really hard working with coworkers who don’t want to be there and don’t care what kind of service they give. It’s frustrating to work for people who care so little about their employees. It’s no fun working at a dead-end job. The one thing that we are guaranteed working at Dunkin Donuts is a whole lot of stress.

Wow these past couple of days have been something. Friday was a very boring day, there was nothing to do, classes were canceled, and it was snowing. So me and a friend decided that it would be a nice day to drink. We went to a friend and to get us our supplies, man once they said yes it was perfect, everything was falling into place. They said they would be back after dinner, man were we the happiest people on campus. So we went to dinner, and then we got lots of munchies for later that night. I don’t know why because we didn’t eat any of them. We went off campus for a while to receive our goods. Man did we get plastered, it was time for us to come back. When we got back we were really loud, mostly me. We played pool, I fell down the stairs, and I puked all over my room. Me and my roommate got into it a couple of times, I wish I would have laid her out that night. To sum things up we got caught.

Things

I have two pictures that mean a lot to me. I keep these pictures on my dash of my car. These pictures are of the two people that mean the most in the world to me. These pictures are of two individuals both being my sisters. One is a picture of my six year old sister and the other is a picture of my almost six year old sister. One is my fathers and the other is my mothers. These two little girls are the reason I am going to school for what I am. They both have inspired me so much.

blog-hunting report

I clicked on my blog and then I pressed the next button to get to someone else’s blog. I don’t know if you wanted me to look at others people’s blog from in your classes or anybody that has a blog in general. Well I looked at anyone’s blog in general, which ever one came up is what I looked at. There were a few that were not English, then there was one that picture jokes inside and then I think she wrote about them I couldn’t really tell because it wasn’t English, over all I think that people write on their blog about anything which is very interesting.

intro two for cause essay

If I could work anywhere I wanted it would not be Dunkin Donuts. I worked at Dunkin Donuts for almost two years before I finally got out and I really can’t that it has done anything for me. I swear working there was almost like being back in high school due to the drama. If only the customers could take a peek out back to see what is going on with their food, all the flies flying around and landing on fresh baked bagels and the donuts that have been sitting in the bin since the delivery. This place is absolutely disgusting, the customer’s service is not important, and the pay sucks.

Man it has been one of those months where nothing seems to be going right. First I was shopping in the mall one and took a break at one of the benches and my wallet got stolen by some guy. A lot went on with that and I didn’t get it back but I did get back all of my ids which is a plus. The man took all of money and threw my atm card in the trash. The thought of him makes me sick. Next I come down with tonsillitis and I am very sick for two to three days, and I could not eat for a good majority of it. Then my car is parked here at EMCC and someone hits it leaving a big dent. I was lucky and he did leave a name and number so I called and I talked to his wife then he called me back. We talked about what should be done and I told him I would go and get an estimate. Well when I went to take my car for a ride I couldn’t get it started. I tried for a week and I could not get it to start, I was bumming rids to and from work, and anywhere else I would need a ride. Finally I get my car to start with the help of four college students and my uncle that works for a car dealership, it was even hard for them to get it. Then last but not least me and my roommate are having problems. Man what a way to start off a semester.

course reaction

So far I like this class. I was confused for a bit because I was going to the wrong place to look for my assignments, but I have been helped by one of my fellow students. Now I think that I am all set and ready to bury my feet into the ground. I am excited to be in this class because it seems that we can talk and write about pretty much anything so far with a few exceptions. I am a little scetchy about writing from my point of view or more like how I think about things because it is all opinions. In the long run I think this class is going to help me.

my worst teacher

My worst teacher would have to be my freshman math teacher. Man this guy was a pervert, nobody liked him. Whenever someone had a question, if it was a girl, he would walk up behind them and help them over their shoulder so he would be able to look down their shirt while he was helping them. If you were one of those girls that didn’t wear shirts with low cuts in the front or a short shirt then u wasn’t going to get the help that you want. This guy would go to any extent t get what he was looking for. He would try to get some of these girls to stay after school so he can give what he thought would be more help. In all reality we all knew what he was trying to pull.

my two hands

My two hands are very unique compared to others. I have very short and fat fingers. I think my hands are very manly. At this time my fingernails are short due to the cold weather, I also have dry skin. I wear only one ring at this time and that is the one my grandmother has given me and it rests on my right ring finger. I have one scar on my pinky right beneath my fingernail on my left hand. That finger is also broken and will never heal. Other than that my two hands are my unique way into society.
